/ Shift_Happens
Shift happens. It’s wonderfully Darwinian. I’ve been lucky enough to witness a few iterations: regimes fall, rebuild, and morph into entirely new shapes; countries shift; societies evolve.
Technology, of course, has a half-life that makes history look glacial. I missed the PC revolution, but the internet unfurled right in front of me. Mobile apps arrived just as infrastructure traded terra firma for the cloud. The web went semantic, forever altering data and assembling the Lego blocks that eventually formed what we now call Artificial Intelligence. All of this unfolded while I was busy building teams, companies, and a rather layered cake of personal curiosities.
Along the way, I’ve worked for myself twice, as well as building things inside multinational information giants—Oracle, Thomson Reuters, Clarivate, and now Norstella.
If there’s a single engine behind my career, it’s simple: curiosity, paired with that quiet nervousness—the sweet trepidation of expectation that kicks in every time curiosity bites and you actually have to build something. Follow that curiosity far enough, and it inevitably leads to reading widely, traveling often, and viewing the world strictly in systems.
My field notes live right here. I hope you’ll stick around for the journey.
